Job Summary:

Longhorn Publishers is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Consultant to drive growth for our Publishing Services section. The successful candidate will identify new business opportunities, build strong client relationships, prepare winning proposals, and convert prospects into long-term clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across government, NGOs, development partners, corporates, embassies, and private clients.
  • Build and maintain relationships with decision-makers.
  • Generate qualified leads through networking, referrals, cold outreach, and market research.
  • Schedule and attend virtual client meetings and presentations.
  • Understand client needs and recommend suitable publishing solutions.
  • Prepare proposals and quotations and follow up to closure.
  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline.
  • Submit weekly pipeline reports, monthly performance reports, and quarterly sales forecasts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in business development, sales, or account management.
  • Experience selling professional services is an added advantage.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent communication and presentation.
  • Proposal writing.
  • Negotiation.
  • Relationship management.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Networking.
  • Organization.
  • Self-driven.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.

Compensation:

This is a consultancy engagement comprising:

  • A monthly retainer subject to agreed performance deliverables.
  • An attractive performance-based commission on successful business secured.
