Job Summary:
A Kenya Holding Company is seeking a strategic and results-driven Business Development Director to serve as the company's growth engine and deal pipeline owner. The successful candidate will identify acquisition targets, partnerships, export channels, supply-chain opportunities, and new verticals across Kenya, East Africa, and international markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Continuously scan Kenya, East Africa, and international acquisition targets, partnerships, emerging verticals, and export channels.
- Build and maintain a strategic pipeline of potential deals, joint ventures, and supplier/distributor partnerships.
- Lead due diligence on every proposed acquisition and partnership.
- Validate market assumptions, demand sizing, and pricing strategy.
- Develop go-to-market plans for new ventures.
- Track competitive landscape, regulatory changes, and macro trends.
- Provide market analysis and deal recommendations to inform the Managing Director's business plan.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 10+ years in business development, corporate development, or commercial leadership, with deep experience in Kenya or East Africa and exposure to international markets.
- Deep working knowledge of at least two of: agriculture, food processing, hospitality, or real estate.
- Track record of identifying opportunities and seeing them through to execution.
- Direct exposure to export-led agricultural or food businesses is a major plus.
- Strong commercial judgment and risk assessment skills.
- Advanced degree (MBA, MA, or equivalent) preferred.
