Key Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver the segment sales strategy and plan, working closely with segment managers and the wider commercial team, with clear timelines and measures.
  • Build and manage high quality prospect pipeline across key markets and channels, with a focused broker engagement approach.
  • Develop compelling proposals and presentations that clearly explain the Bupa proposition; negotiate fair, sustainable terms.
  • Strengthen broker and client relationships, including onboarding priority brokers and supporting training to enable growth.
  • Track performance and market insight, providing regular forecasts and feedback; keep sales activity records accurate and up to date.
  • Champion compliant selling and risk awareness, escalating potential issues and meeting regulatory and governance requirements.
  • Collaborate with pricing, proposition and marketing to inform campaign activity and optimise distribution; complete CRM and reporting to agreed standards.
  • Model Bupa’s culture and values, acting with integrity and putting customers at the heart of decisions.

What We’re Looking For

  • We’re looking for someone who’s confident, curious and commercially minded — and who cares about doing the right thing for customers.
  • A sales background in global health insurance or relevant financial services (e.g., life insurance, banking or wealth), with success managing large corporate accounts.
  • First‑hand experience working with Africa markets and broker‑led distribution.
  • A track record of winning new business and meeting targets through practical, consultative selling.
  • Strong commercial judgement, including pricing and contract know‑how, and the ability to read financials and act on them.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build partnerships and negotiate fair outcomes.
  • Comfortable in a regulated environment, with a commitment to treating customers fairly and following governance requirements.
  • Leadership experience: you’ve supported teams through change and growth.
