Background

A regulated small-sized Sacco in Nairobi is seeking a qualified Business Development Manager (BDM) to drive business growth, enhance competitiveness, and strengthen market presence.

Key Deliverables

  • Increase membership by expanding outreach and successfully attracting new and diverse members.
  • Grow and maintain a high-quality loan portfolio that meets business targets.
  • Increase member deposits through effective mobilization strategies.
  • Enhance the competitiveness of Sacco products by improving existing offerings and launching new products that meet evolving member needs.
  • Expand the Sacco's market presence and geographical reach through strategic growth initiatives.
  • Strengthen business growth by building and maintaining strategic partnerships with key stakeholders.
  • Lead, supervise, and develop staff to achieve high team performance and support the Sacco's business objectives.
  • Improve member satisfaction and engagement, ensuring a high standard of service delivery and positive member experience.
  • Manage operational and business development costs to ensure efficient use of resources and support the Sacco's financial objectives.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a business-related field (additional professional qualifications are an advantage)
  • Minimum of four (4) years' experience in a similar role within banking, microfinance, or the Sacco sector
  • Strong knowledge of the financial services market
  • Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and networking skills
  • Strong commitment to driving organizational growth
