Role Purpose:
To develop and execute strategies to increase company sales and profits.
Identify profitable business opportunities, secure sound business deals, and lead business development associates while adhering to Analabs Policies.
Ensure a comprehensive client focus in the Organization.
Maintain work relationships within and between Analabs and customers, suppliers, and other outsourced laboratory service providers.
Understand and implement the organization's strategic plans and management policies.
Offer leadership/ mentorship and supervisory role in the Department.
Role Context:
The organization requires a Business Development Officer responsible for analysing our customer base and current sales strategies and identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and profitability.
The Organization requires a Business Development Officer to develop business and marketing plans in coordination with the Sales and Marketing Manager to achieve revenue goals
Research the market for identifying new business opportunities.
Explain to prospective clients the advantages of the services offered and follow up with them to close the business deals.
Assist in the company’s branding and media communication activities such as press releases, advertisements, marketing collaterals, and website.
Analyse the current and past budgets, sales, revenues, and Service deficiencies to provide recommendations for business growth and problem resolution.

Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
- Identify prospective clients, sell the advantages of the services offered, and follow up with them to close the business deals.
- Develop business proposals for new and existing customers
- Determine cross-selling opportunities among different client segments.
- Develop and deliver pitches for potential customers.
- Ensure sales targets are met
- Increase Market share (new clients) and Brand prepositioning.
- Identify new market opportunities via market research and initiate contact
- Manages the planning and scheduling of business development activities
- Maintain a knowledge repository of clients, referrals, RFPs/RFQs, prospects, and presentations.
- Manage the department productivity and performance, achieving operating expense budget targets and other KPI’s as assigned.
- Prepare the annual Business Development budget and track the expenses against the budget.
- Accurate Budgetary sales projection and continuous tracking to ensure achievement.
- Increase overall sales efficiency and profitability through excellent salesmanship
- Collaborate with colleagues and peers on the marketing and Technical teams to improve overall customer experience and satisfaction.
- Build strong relationships with customers, outside business contacts, and company stakeholders.
- Generate customer-specific sales presentations
- Develop and implement a customer visitation schedule
- Ensure constant customer and or segment-specific communication
- Ensure business-related risks are identified, measured, and mitigated.
- Participate in industry forums, client discussions, and conferences as a representative of the organization
- Stay up to date on company best practices, policies, services, pricing, and promotions
- Foster team spirit through the establishment of a suitable coaching and working environment.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, and Experience required for this Role.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management or Administration, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, or related Laboratory Science field from a recognized university.
- More than 3 years of proven experience working as a Business Development Officer/Sales/Marketing or similar role.
- Excellent reporting and presentation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 'ANALABS'

- The ability to travel to meet clients, attend conferences, and research new markets as needed.
