Responsibilities or duties

Business Leadership

  • Translate strategic goals into operational plans to achieve targeted growth in sales and profit.
  • Identify and optimize promotional opportunities, coordinating with wider departments.
  • Maintain market intelligence on competitors, trends, and new product opportunities.
  • Liaise with Group leadership to set strategic goals and execution timelines.

Operational Oversight

  • Lead daily operations across credit, collections, finance, audit, IT, and compliance functions.
  • Monitor expenses, cash flow, and budgeting to optimize costs and profitability.
  • Recruit, train, and develop staff, ensuring adherence to systems and procedures.

Risk & Compliance

  • Implement and monitor methodologies for measuring operational risk across credit and collections.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and local laws governing asset finance.
  • Revise, improve, and enforce credit and collection policies, standards, and operating procedures.
  • Oversee contracts, agreements, and stakeholder relations, ensuring legal and compliance standards are met.

Systems & Reporting

  • Maintain and improve credit and collection reporting frameworks.
  • Implement system projects (e.g., Loan Management Systems) to enhance efficiency.
  • Monitor and report key operational risks monthly, recommending improvements.
  • Ensure effective risk and report management for new finance products and campaigns.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics.

MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred.

Experience needed

8+ years of experience in Asset financing in Microfinance/ Lending institutions & Banking.

Strong understanding of credit management, collections, and risk management principles.

Familiarity with business functions including finance, sales, IT, and compliance.

Proven ability to manage system transitions and risk modeling.

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and quantitative skills.

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across diverse geographies.
