Allied Talent Partners (ATP) is a mission-driven, not-for-profit talent marketplace focused on connecting vetted, experienced professionals to high-impact opportunities in energy access and sustainable development across Africa. ATP specializes in fixed-term, deliverable-driven engagements, helping organizations access the right expertise on demand.

Key deliverables:

  • Build and convert a qualified C&I sales pipeline across Kenya and neighbouring East African markets, including Zambia, for rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV opportunities.
  • Identify, open and develop relationships with prospective customers and channel partners, expanding an independently built network of commercially relevant opportunities.
  • Develop sales proposals with technical colleagues, progress opportunities through the sales process, and close projects through to a clear handover to execution teams.
  • Contribute to the achievement of KES 250 million in sales and KES 400 million in proposals during the first year, across Kenya and the wider regional remit.
  • Identify and build relationships with one to two new key accounts, and maintain accurate pipeline records and market intelligence for weekly commercial reviews.

Requirements

Experience Required

  • Demonstrated success independently developing and converting a country, regional market or sales territory with clear revenue accountability.
  • At least five years of techno-commercial B2B sales experience in high-value, project-based sales.
  • A strong C&I solar network and evidence of converting relationships with system integrators, channel partners and senior customer decision-makers into qualified opportunities and closed business.
  • Experience progressing high-value projects through to implementation handover and developing strategic key accounts.
  • Exposure to selling into sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, education, healthcare, retail or hospitality.

Technical Requirements

  • Ability to develop and negotiate credible techno-commercial proposals, including pricing models and quantitative analysis for solar PV opportunities.
  • Sound commercial judgment in structuring project-financing options, including leasing or power-purchase arrangements, with relevant partners.
  • Strong command of pipeline management and the coordination required to align technical, operations and finance teams around customer commitments.

Language Requirements

No additional language requirement confirmed.

Soft Skills

  • Commercially astute and able to understand diverse customer business needs and tailor a persuasive value proposition.
  • Confident, credible and resilient when engaging executive decision-makers and negotiating complex, high-value transactions.
  • Highly autonomous and process-oriented, with the discipline to turn market access into rigorous sales follow-through.
  • Collaborative across technical, operations and finance teams, with clear accountability for customer outcomes.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The strongest candidates will be hands-on C&I solar business developers with an active, relevant network and a demonstrated ability to create and close new business.

Broader clean-energy or complex infrastructure-sales backgrounds may be considered where candidates demonstrate equivalent access to senior buyers, project-finance fluency and a proven record of independent revenue generation.
