Tax Justice Network Africa (TJNA) is a leading Pan-African advocacy network committed to promoting fair and equitable tax systems across the continent. Role Context

TJNA is seeking a dynamic and experienced Communications, Campaigns, and Outreach Manager to lead its strategic communication efforts. This role is pivotal in amplifying TJNA's voice, engaging stakeholders, and driving impactful campaigns that advocate for tax justice in Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive communication strategies, managing media relations, and coordinating outreach activities to enhance TJNA's visibility and influence.

Responsibilities

The Communications, Campaigns, and Outreach Manager will be responsible for:

  • Developing and executing integrated communication strategies to support TJNA's mission and campaigns.
  • Managing all aspects of TJNA's public relations, including media outreach, press releases, and crisis communication.
  • Overseeing the creation and dissemination of compelling content across various platforms (website, social media, publications).
  • Designing and implementing effective campaigns to mobilize public support and advocate for policy change.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with media outlets, partners, and key stakeholders.
  • Organizing and managing outreach events, workshops, and conferences.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of communication and campaign activities.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field. A Master's degree is an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in communications, campaign management, and public relations, preferably within the non-profit or advocacy sector.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful communication strategies and campaigns.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive messages for diverse audiences.
  • Strong media relations skills and a good understanding of the media landscape in Africa.
  • Proficiency in digital communication tools and social media management.
  • Experience in event management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of tax justice issues and the African development context is desirable.
