Job Summary & Scope

We are seeking an accurate, efficient, and customer-focused Cashier to manage financial transactions at our SGR Mombasa Terminus establishment. In this role, you will handle Point of Sale (POS) operations, process various customer payment methods, reconcile daily cash registers, and ensure exceptional customer service at the payment desk.

Key Responsibilities

• Transaction Processing: Take and process customer orders accurately, verifying prices and details using the POS system.
• Payment Handling: Accept cash, credit/debit cards, and mobile payments efficiently, ensuring correct change is issued.
• Cash Management: Count and balance the cash drawer, prepare accurate cash summary reports, and record all payment receipts and complimentaries.
• Documentation & Desk Maintenance: Maintain accurate transaction records, properly file receipts/invoices, and keep the cashier desk clean and organized.
• Compliance: Adhere strictly to restaurant operational policies, financial procedures, and sanitation guidelines.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Certificate, Diploma, or relevant experience in Hospitality, Food & Beverage, Business, Accounting, or a related field.
• Experience: At least one (1) year of practical experience in a restaurant, bakery, or hospitality environment.
• Technical Skills: Knowledge of POS systems is a strong added advantage.
• Core Competencies: Excellent customer service and communication skills, high level of honesty, reliability, organization, and strong teamwork.
