The Category Manager will be responsible for managing and driving performance in the Home Care and Personal Care product categories. This role requires a commercially astute professional who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution. The ideal candidate will leverage market insights, supplier relationships, and data analytics to optimize product assortment, pricing, and profitability.
Develop and implement category strategies to drive sales growth and profitability. Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure product availability. Monitor category performance, including sales, margins, and stock levels, to ensure targets are met. Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities to inform category decisions. Collaborate with procurement, marketing, and operations teams to ensure effective product promotions and merchandising. Utilize data analytic tools to evaluate product performance, pricing strategies, and consumer trends. Lead and motivate the category team to achieve business objectives. Ensure efficient inventory management and minimize stockouts or overstock situations. Drive innovation in product mix, sourcing, and customer experience.
Excellent analytical skills and abstract reasoning abilities. Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate teams. Results-oriented, detail-focused, and able to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field from a recognized institution. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Category Lead in Home Care and Personal Care within a retail environment. Strong supplier management and negotiation skills with established industry networks. Demonstrated commercial acumen and tech-savvy mindset. Proficient in data analytics tools such as Power BI, Google Data Analytics, Excel, or similar platforms.
