The Category Manager – Household & Electronics will be responsible for leading and managing the performance of the supermarket’s Household and Electronics product categories. This role requires a commercially minded professional who can drive category growth through strategic sourcing, supplier management, pricing optimization, and data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will combine strong negotiation skills with analytical ability and retail experience to achieve category profitability and customer satisfaction.
Develop and implement category strategies to enhance sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction. Manage the end-to-end performance of the Household and Electronics product categories. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure consistent product availability and favorable terms. Conduct market and competitor analysis to inform product assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies. Monitor sales trends, stock levels, and product performance using data analytics tools. Collaborate with marketing, procurement, and operations teams to plan promotions and improve category visibility. Lead negotiations with suppliers to achieve cost savings and margin improvement. Ensure efficient inventory management to minimize stockouts or excess inventory. Supervise and mentor category teams to drive performance and operational excellence.
Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and decision-making skills. Strong leadership and people management abilities. Certification in negotiation or supplier management will be an added advantage.
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field from a recognized institution. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Category Lead in Household and Electronics within a retail environment. Strong supplier management and negotiation skills with established industry connections. Demonstrated commercial acumen and proficiency in using technology for business efficiency. Practical experience with data analytic tools such as Power BI, Google Data Analytics, Excel, or similar platforms.
