Background
The Central Catering and Accommodation Manager will be responsible for overseeing catering and accommodation services at Mount Kenya University’s Thika Campus. The position falls under the Student Welfare and Alumni department and is expected to support the efficient delivery of services to students and other members of the university community.
Responsibilities
The role involves coordinating operations within catering facilities and university accommodation areas. The manager will be expected to ensure that services are properly organised, resources are used responsibly and the needs of students residing or dining within the institution are addressed.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Coordinating catering and accommodation services at the campus.
- Supervising the daily operations of university dining and accommodation facilities.
- Monitoring the quality and consistency of services provided to students.
- Supporting proper planning and utilisation of catering and accommodation resources.
- Coordinating staff assigned to catering and residential facilities.
- Ensuring that service areas operate in an orderly and professional manner.
- Addressing operational challenges affecting student accommodation or catering.
- Supporting compliance with institutional procedures and service standards.
- Preparing relevant operational reports for university management.
- Working with the Student Welfare and Alumni department to improve student services.
