Position Overview
The Certified Human Resource Officer will oversee the delivery of comprehensive HR strategies, manage end-to-end talent acquisition, and safeguard operational compliance with national labor frameworks. This role focuses on driving high-quality people management, developing personnel capabilities, and upholding the professional standards of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) Kenya.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment, selection, and talent acquisition pipeline.
- Coordinate comprehensive employee onboarding, orientation, and structured induction programs.
- Maintain accurate, highly confidential employee records and robust HR documentation.
- Ensure strict operational compliance with Kenyan labor laws and institutional HR policies.
- Administer employment contracts, leave management, attendance tracking, and performance evaluation metrics.
- Handle employee relations, grievances, and workplace matters with professional confidentiality.
- Support internal training, professional development, and capacity-building initiatives.
- Assist in designing, developing, and executing progressive HR policies and procedures.
- Formulate regular HR analytical reports and maintain key performance metrics for management review.
- Advise executive management on evolving employment legislation and strategic HR best practices.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Human Resource Management or a closely related field of study.
- Professional Certification: Must be a Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) or hold an equivalent recognized professional HR certification.
- Registration: Must be a registered member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) Kenya with a valid, current practicing status where applicable.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years of relevant human resource experience is highly preferred and will be considered an added advantage.
- Core Competencies: Deep knowledge of Kenyan labor laws, exceptional interpersonal communication, strong organizational layout, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Personal Attributes: High level of professional integrity, absolute confidentiality, and a passion for people management.
