The Chef is responsible for leading the kitchen team in the preparation and presentation of high-quality cuisine. This role includes menu development, inventory management, and ensuring the strictest standards of food hygiene and safety. The Chef must be creative, organized, and capable of managing a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining consistency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation & Production:
    • Prepare, season, and cook dishes according to standardized recipes and plating guidelines.
    • Oversee the preparation of ingredients, ensuring freshness and quality.
    • Monitor food portioning and waste to maintain cost control.
  • Menu Development:
    • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop seasonal and innovative menus.
    • Test new recipes and update existing ones to reflect guest preferences and culinary trends.
  • Kitchen Management:
    • Supervise and train junior chefs, line cooks, and kitchen assistants.
    • Schedule kitchen staff and ensure adequate coverage for service shifts.
    • Maintain strict cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, storage areas, and walk-ins.
  • Inventory & Cost Control:
    • Manage food stock, order supplies, and receive deliveries to ensure freshness and availability.
    • Conduct regular inventory audits and assist in minimizing food cost percentages.
    • Control labor costs by optimizing kitchen efficiency.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: Culinary Arts Degree or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a professional kitchen, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Certifications: Food Handlers' Certification / Serve Safe certified.
  • Skills:
    • Expertise in various cooking techniques and cuisines.
    • Strong knife skills and presentation aesthetics.
    • Ability to work long hours on your feet in a high-heat environment.
    • Excellent leadership and delegation skills.
  • Other: Flexible schedule required (mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays).
