This is a full-time, permanent and pensionable position within the Kitui County Government.
Responsibilities or duties
- Planning, controlling and coordinating of designs, construction supervision, repair and maintenance of roads;
- Checking and recommending for approval of engineering consultants designs including evaluation, certifying and recommending fees submitted by consultants and contractors;
- Co-ordination of improvements of roads services;
- Supervision of Construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of classified and unclassified roads;
- Preparation of tender documents;
- Monitoring the execution of roads development projects and supervision and training of engineers and technical staff; and
- Any other duty assigned from time to time.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Be a Citizen of Kenya;
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or its equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution;
- Been Registered by the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya (ERB);
- a current valid annual Practicing license from the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya;
- Corporate membership with the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK);
- Attended a Strategic Leadership Development Course lasting not less than six (6) weeks form a recognized institution;
- Demonstrated general administrative ability required for direction, control and implementation of civil engineering programmes including supervision of professional and technical staff; and
- Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
