JOB DETAILS:

Position: Cleaner
Industry: Retail / Supermarket

Job Summary:
The Cleaner will maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation throughout the supermarket, including customer areas, staff facilities, washrooms, and other assigned areas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize floors, windows, shelves, entrances, and other surfaces.
• Maintain clean and hygienic washrooms and staff facilities.
• Empty and dispose of waste appropriately.
• Clean customer and staff areas regularly throughout the day.
• Respond promptly to spills and other cleaning needs.
• Use cleaning equipment and products safely and correctly.
• Maintain adequate supplies of cleaning materials.
• Report maintenance issues, hazards, or damaged facilities to the supervisor.
• Keep cleaning equipment and supplies properly stored.
• Follow supermarket health, safety, and hygiene procedures.

Requirements:

• KCSE certificate or equivalent is an advantage.
• Previous cleaning experience is preferred but may not be essential.
• Good understanding of hygiene and sanitation practices.
• Physically fit and able to perform cleaning duties for extended periods.
• Reliable, punctual, honest, and hardworking.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Level of Education: high school
