Background

RUARAKA UHAI NEEMA HOSPITAL is seeking to fill the position of Clinical Officer Anaesthetist. The hospital is located at OFF THIKA ROAD, OPP. SAFARI PARK HOTEL, P.O BOX 65122 – 00618 – NAIROBI KENYA.

Responsibilities

Performing pre-operative patient assessments which may include but not limited to:

  • Being well-informed of the patient’s condition and any allergies or medical history that may influence what medicines the patient can handle.
  • Conducting physical examinations
  • Reviewing and understanding a patient’s condition and treatment options, so that they can be certain how the anaesthetics will respond within the patient
  • Making pre-anesthesia visits to the patient and documenting observations on patient records
  • Educating patients about the process and effects of anesthesia before surgery,
  • Keeping the patient calm in this sometimes stressful scenario before operation
  • Informing the patient what his/her role is in the whole process of operation
  • Attending to patient needs prior to, during and after surgical procedures
  • Administering anesthetics which can be local, inhalation, intravenous, spinal and other anesthetics prescribed by Anesthesiologist whenever it is applicable.
  • Accurately measuring, mixing and putting together the appropriate concentration and mix of anesthetics to be administered.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Higher National Diploma in Clinical Medicine & Surgery (Anaesthesia) or related field.
  • Valid Practicing License
  • Two (2) + Years of Experience.
