Impact Research and Development Organization (IRDO) www.impact-rdo.org  is a registered Kenyan NGO with a man office in Kisumu and regional offices in 5 counties of Kenya IRDO's principal mandate is to design, implement and evaluate public health research and intervention programs that improve the health status of individuals and local communities Impact Research and Development Organization in collaboration with the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington, United States, is conducting a study to improve engagement in HIV care among adolescents in Kenya. We are looking for qualified and experienced personnel to immediately fill the position of a Clinician Scientist:

Job Summary
The Clinician Scientist will work with both the research team and the clinical teams to help improve HIV care for adolescents in Kenya He will be amember of the core project team responsible for the dinical delivery of the Data informed Stepped Care (DSC) study to meet research goals in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
He will also ensure accurate clinical delivery of the DISC Intervention to patients at intervention facilities, lead clinical teams, partner with project leaders, other team members, Ministry of Health facility leaders and staff to ensure implementation of the intervention is successful.

Key roles and responsibilities
•Plan, develop and lead trainings of healthcare workers at all intervention facilities in preparation of trial commencement
• Work closely with healthcare workers and facility leadership at intervention facilities to meet recruitment targets and ensure appropriate recruitment strategies are in place
•Contribute to the development of the project risk identification and mitigation plan and manage clinical risks through the project's life cycle
• Ensure that the intervention is being delivered at the highest quality by identifying quality standards/ requirements, planning how compliance will be measured monitoring and overseeing management of clinical quality issues
• Lead quality improvement and intervention adaptation activities
• Participate in regular team meetings and communicate effectively to help the team of data collectors to achieve objectives
• Participate as a member of a leadership team which includes the investigators.co-investigators, Study Coordinator and Data Manager
• Contribute to intervention and training materials development
• Monitor intervention implementation and fidelity
•Join the national and respective counties HIV Care and Treatment TWGs and update the study team on relevant changes
• Contribute to analyses and dissemination of findings

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBCHB) with valid practice license
•HIV-specialized physician familiar with HIV care programs and adolescent care
•More than two years of clinical research/monitoring experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Experience leading clinical trials
•Requires good knowledge of applicable clinical research regulatory processes
•Knowledge of HIV treatment and prevention research Knowledge of clinical trial conduct in addition to skill in applying clinical research regulatory requirements le. International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and relevant local laws, regulations and guidelines, towards clinical trial conduct
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to plan, manage time, and prioritize competing tasks
•Attention to detail and accuracy in work. Results-oriented approach to work delivery and output
•Intermediate/advanced computer skills in Word, Excel and Power Point
• Excellent teamwork and supportive supervision skills
