Background

We are seeking a highly motivated Commercial Litigation Associate with 2–3 years post-admission experience to join our growing legal team. The successful candidate will support the firm in handling a wide range of commercial disputes and provide strategic legal support to corporate clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions on commercial and corporate disputes.
  • Draft pleadings, submissions, affidavits, witness statements, and other court documents.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, and alternative dispute resolution forums.
  • Assist in case strategy, evidence preparation, and trial preparation.
  • Manage case files and ensure compliance with court timelines and procedural requirements.
  • Liaise with clients, counsel, courts, and regulatory bodies.
  • Support senior lawyers in complex commercial litigation matters.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a valid practising certificate.
  • 2–3 years post-admission experience, preferably in commercial litigation.
  • Demonstrated experience in drafting pleadings and court submissions.
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and work under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal and client management skills.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in corporate and regulatory disputes.
  • Exposure to arbitration or other forms of alternative dispute resolution.
  • Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness.
