KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage sales operations to achieve budgeted revenue, volume, and profitability targets
  • Develop and execute effective sales strategies, selling cycles, and go-to-market plans
  • Plan and implement integrated marketing initiatives, including advertising and PR
  • Build and manage strong customer and partner relationships, including farmers, distributors, and agencies
  • Identify new market opportunities, including export markets, and drive expansion strategies
  • Monitor competitor activity, pricing, and market trends to inform business decisions
  • Oversee forecasting, budgeting, and financial performance of the commercial function
  • Own and drive brand performance, market share growth, and competitive positioning
  • Lead and develop cross-functional teams to deliver high performance

KEY COMPETENCIES AND TRAITS

  • Strong Business Acumen - Deep understanding of partner profitability models
  • Channel Expertise - Solid grasp of channel dynamics including incentives, burn-rate and relationship management
  • Sales Leadership - Proven ability to deliver results in unpredictable and competitive environments
  • Marketing Capability - Creative, adaptable, and able to work cross-functionally
  • Commercial Expertise - Excellent negotiation, communication, and sales enablement skills
  • People Leadership - Experience managing teams, including remote staff

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, or related field
  • Membership with a relevant professional body
  • Postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in Commercial
  • At least 4 years at a senior management level
  • Prior experience in FMCG is essential
