Background

Responsibilities
The Communications Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies to promote UNEP's work and initiatives. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and executing comprehensive communication plans.
- Creating engaging content for various platforms (website, social media, press releases, etc.).
- Managing media relations and responding to media inquiries.
- Organizing and promoting events and campaigns.
- Monitoring and evaluating communication efforts.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess:
- A Master's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing communication strategies.
- Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in digital communication tools and platforms.
- Experience working with international organizations is an asset.
Experience
A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in communications.
Additional Details
This is a full-time position based in Nairobi, Kenya.
