Job Summary

Our client is seeking a proactive, creative, and passionate Communications Officer to support the organizations Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Communications strategy. You will be our “storyteller-in chief” translating field impact into compelling narratives that strengthen our brand, engage partners, influence stakeholders, and inspire action.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Storytelling

  • Develop and execute an integrated communications strategy aligned with the org mission and programmatic goals.
  • Identify, document, and craft powerful impact stories generated from the organizations implementation.
  • Write and edit high-quality content for press releases, newsletters, annual reports, op-eds, donor updates, and blog posts.

Digital & Brand Management

  • Own and manage the organizations website, ensuring content is fresh, SEO-optimized, and engaging
  • Manage all social media channels (LinkedIn, X, Facebook), including content calendar, creation, publishing, and community engagement
  • Ensure strict brand consistency across all internal and external materials

Media & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with agricultural, development, and mainstream media
  • Coordinate press inquiries, interviews, and media coverage for events and campaigns
  • Monitor media coverage, track communication metrics, and produce monthly analytics reports

Events & Campaigns

  • Support planning, promotion, and coverage of organizational events, field days, partner forums, and campaigns
  • Develop communication kits, photography/videography briefs, and event collaterals

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field
  • 2-3 years of proven experience in a communications role
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal storytelling skills
  • Demonstrable experience managing social media platforms, websites, and digital content creation -
  • Proficiency in design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and analytics tools (Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite) is a strong advantage
