Fellowship Overview

Seats of Change invites applications for a 3-month Community Journalism Fellowship. This initiative is designed to strengthen local reporting that connects everyday leadership and rights advocacy to tangible change within communities. We are seeking community journalists passionate about telling stories that highlight women’s leadership, inclusion, and rights.

Focus Areas

Fellows will document how women are shaping governance, influencing decision-making, and driving progress in their communities. The fellowship focuses on journalists based in the following counties:

  • Turkana
  • Kilifi
  • Makueni
  • Nairobi

Fellowship Benefits

Selected fellows will receive:

  • Practical training in solutions journalism, data-driven storytelling, and rights-based reporting.
  • Ongoing mentorship from experienced editors and media professionals.
  • Access to multimedia skills and tools to produce stories across text, photo, video, and audio.
  • Publication opportunities through Vice Versa Global platforms and partner media outlets.
