Key Responsibilities:

Project Implementation and Monitoring

  • Mobilize and train targeted farmers groups on the various proposed activities.
  • Carry out all Free Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC) meetings with farmers groups and document then using designated templates
  • Support farmers to sign consent forms and Livelihoods and Carbon Development Agreement (LCDA)
  • Digitize all farmers that have signed consent forms and LCDAs and submit the data in the projects data hub
  • Train farmers on agroforestry practices adopted in the project, monitor their adoption and compliance to the set standards
  • Organize and document seedling distribution to the farmers, monitor tree growing progress among the farmers 
  • Map all planted and eligible trees using Tree Planting Area Locator (TPAL) application
  • Collect any complaints and feedback from the farmers and submit in the Complaint and Feedback Mechanism (CFM) system of the project
  • Promote integrated Climate Smart Farming with run off harvesting technologies both for food and tree crops
  • Conduct local tree nurseries assessments and carry out re-greening initiatives trainings in collaboration with the project staff and local stakeholders
  • Support development and actualization of field monitoring standard in the program in collaboration with M&E Officer.
  • Engage with key stakeholders, community, government, church and other civil society representatives in order to maximize the impact of Restore Africa interventions
  • Ensure timely and appropriate utilization of budgeted resources for all project interventions and activities.
  • Adhere to World Vision safeguarding protocols for children, adults, project participants and all parties in the course of your work
  • Take good care of the organization’s assets/equipment under your custody at any given time e.g. computers, cameras, phones, motorbikes etc.

Required Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Forestry, Agroforestry and Natural Resource Management, Community Development with a bias in livelihood, and Agriculture related field
  • At least 1 year experience in community work.
  • Ability to engage with local communities, stakeholders and government authorities
  • Fluent in local language and understands local geography.
  • Knowledge of and adherence of humanitarian NGO Code of Conduct.
  • Skills in gender mainstreaming / integration is an added advantage.
  • Computer proficiency with good skills in MS office (Excel, word, PowerPoint, outlook etc.)
  • Attach CV, ID (both sides), certificates and reference letter from the local chief
