The Compliance Monitoring Specialist is responsible for designing, executing, and enhancing risk‑based compliance monitoring and testing activities across the International Region. The role ensures that controls operate effectively, regulatory obligations are met, and issues are remediated in a timely manner. The specialist partners with Business, Legal, Internal Audit, Finance, and HR to strengthen the control environment, reduce misconduct risks, and drive a culture of integrity.
Job Description
Key responsibilities/essential functions include:
- Develop and execute risk‑based monitoring plans covering mainly Compliance risks and policies (Indirect Third Parties, HCP engagements and travel & expenses, etc.).
- Perform control testing using documented test scripts, sampling methodologies, and statistically sound approaches.
- Conduct transaction reviews identifying anomalies, potential slush fund indicators, or policy breaches.
- Utilize data analytics to identify patterns and outliers.
- Has the ability to prioritize information for data analysis. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking.
- Document findings with clear root cause analysis, risk ratings, and remediation plans.
- Prepare dashboards and periodic reports for senior management and governance forums.
- Provide feedback to improve policies, SOPs, and control design based on monitoring results.
- Uses some judgment and has the ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated, day-to-day problems
- Partner with Legal, Finance, Internal Audit, Procurement, Dealer Compliance, Channel Excellence and other relevant parties to strengthen controls.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
- May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements.
- Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field.
- Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Law, Economics, Audit, or related field.
- Experience in compliance, internal audit, risk management, or forensic accounting.
- Experience with monitoring/testing methodologies, control frameworks, and documentation standards.
- Working knowledge of Independent Third Part risk, AML, FCPA/UK Bribery Act, industry codes (EFPIA/MedTech).
- Strong analytical skills; proficiency with Excel/Power BI/Tableau and data analysis techniques.
- Excellent communication skills in English; ability to write concise, evidence‑based reports.
