Role Purpose

Lead the terminal reviews of two UNEP‑implemented climate transparency projects in Burundi and Cameroon, ensuring adherence to GEF and UNEP evaluation standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct inception phase: desk review, Theory of Change, review framework, protocols, inception reports.
  • Coordinate data collection and analysis: interviews, surveys, stakeholder engagement, reporting progress.
  • Draft and finalize Terminal Review reports in line with UNEP guidelines.
  • Prepare presentations, annexes, and responses to comments.
  • Maintain positive stakeholder relations while ensuring independence of the review.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in management, business administration, economics, environment, engineering, energy, or related field.
  • First‑level degree with 2 additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in evaluation and monitoring of development projects in developing countries.
  • Experience working with national governments in Africa or developing countries.
  • Desirable: technical experience in environmental/climate change projects in Africa.
  • Languages: Fluency in English and French (oral and written).
