Background
The Koitaleel Samoei University College (KSUC) was formed through a Legal Notice as a College of the University of Nairobi. In the mirror image of the mentoring university, KSUC will have 7 campuses, one in each sub-county of the Nandi County, and a Teaching Hospital.
Job Specification
The duties and responsibilities entail assist in:
- Handling students’ issues concerning their social life by offering guidance and counselling in order to correct their undesirable behaviors.
- Conducting the process of recruiting, interviewing and training peer educators.
- Conducting guidance and counselling sessions in order to address arising social issues such as misuse of drugs.
- Identifying topical issues that are beneficial to students.
- Organizing for motivational speakers to address students on topical issues.
- Maintaining consistent follow-up with the students to ensure sustainable improvement.
- Referring students who require specific attention to the appropriate service provider such as drug addicts who require rehabilitation services
Person Specification
For appointment to this grade, one must:
- Must possess Bachelor Degree in Counselling, Social Sciences, Education or its equivalent from an accredited and recognized university.
- Be a member of a counsellors’ body such as Kenya Counselors and PsychologistsAssociation or Kenya Universities Psychologists and Counsellors Association.
- Be computer proficient
- Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution
