Background
The Part-Time Coxswain Trainer will provide specialised maritime instruction at the Malindi Maritime Academy.
Responsibilities
The trainer will support learners in developing knowledge and practical competence related to small vessel operation, navigation, safety and the responsibilities of a coxswain.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Delivering coxswain training sessions.
- Preparing instructional materials and practical exercises.
- Teaching vessel handling and navigation principles.
- Demonstrating safe operating procedures.
- Assessing learners through practical and theoretical evaluations.
- Maintaining training and assessment records.
- Supporting practical maritime exercises.
- Reinforcing safety and emergency response procedures.
- Providing feedback and guidance to trainees.
- Supporting the academy in maintaining effective maritime training programmes.
