Job Overview

Our client in the Logistics Industry is seeking to recruit an Experienced Declaration Officer. The ideal candidate must have at least 6 years of proven experience in Petroleum Products Declaration. The Declarant Officer will be responsible for ensuring the accurate preparation, classification, and submission of customs declarations for petroleum products. The role involves scrutinizing import and export documentation, confirming correct tariff classifications, and ensuring all declarations are made in full compliance with all requirements.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and lodge customs entries for petroleum products (bulk fuel) using relevant customs systems

Accurately classify petroleum products under the correct HS codes.

Compute correct customs duties, VAT, excise, and levies on petroleum product consignments.

Resolve customs or clearance-related issues quickly

Collaborate and Engage with relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth clearance.

Prepare and submit regular reports on customs status, clearance progress, duty payments, and compliance.

Maintain accurate records of customs entries and other key documentation

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

Diploma in Customs administration, with proficiency certificate on ICMS from KESRA

Full working knowledge of ICMS, Asycuda, Kentrade Systems.

Proven experience and full understanding of customs clearance procedures.

Must have at least 6 years proven experience in handling high volume declarations in the petroleum industry

Knowledge of KRA Regulations
