Our clients are private Primary and Junior Secondary Schools are seeking to hire a Deputy Head Teacher to supports the Head Teacher in the overall leadership, management, and administration of the school. The role ensures high standards of teaching, learning, discipline, and operational efficiency while deputizing for the Head Teacher in their absence. Key Responsibilities Academic Leadership  Support the development and implementation of the school curriculum.  Monitor teaching standards and ensure effective lesson delivery.  Supervise preparation of schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessments.  Analyze student performance and coordinate improvement strategies.  Promote continuous professional development (CPD) for teachers. Student Discipline & Welfare  Oversee student discipline and enforce school rules and policies.  Handle disciplinary cases and maintain records.  Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.  Coordinate guidance and counselling programs. Staff Supervision & Management  Assist in supervising teaching and non-teaching staff.  Support staff appraisal and performance management processes.  Manage staff attendance, punctuality, and duty allocation.  Mentor and coach teachers for improved performance. School Administration  Assist in day-to-day school operations and administration.  Coordinate school timetables, exams, and co-curricular activities.  Ensure proper record-keeping (academic, attendance, and administrative).  Oversee school routines, assemblies, and events. Financial & Resource Support  Monitor utilization of teaching and learning materials.  Ensure proper maintenance of school facilities and assets. Stakeholder Engagement  Support communication between school and parents/guardians.  Participate in Board of Management (BOM) or PTA meetings as required.  Represent the school in official functions when delegated.  Act as Head Teacher in their absence. Compliance & Policy Implementation  Ensure adherence to education policies and regulations (e.g., Ministry of Education guidelines).  Support implementation of school policies and strategic plans.  Ensure compliance with health, safety, and safeguarding standards. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)  Improvement in student academic performance.  Reduction in disciplinary cases.  Teacher performance and retention levels.  Timely completion of academic programs and reports.  Stakeholder (parents/students) satisfaction levels. Qualifications & Experience  Bachelor’s degree in Education (B.Ed) or equivalent.  Registered with Teachers Service Commission (for Kenyan context).  Minimum of 5–8 years teaching experience.  At least 2–3 years in a leadership or senior teacher role.  Strong leadership and decision-making skills.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  Organizational and administrative ability.  Conflict resolution and disciplinary management.  Data-driven decision-making (academic performance analysis).  Integrity and professionalism.
