About the Role
The draftsman will play a critical role in translating mining, engineering, and infrastructure concepts into precise and compliant technical designs that support plant construction, facility development, equipment installation, and operational optimization. The role directly supports Shanta Gold's strategic objectives of production efficiency, safety excellence, cost control, and sustainable growth by ensuring all designs meet the highest engineering and regulatory standards within a mining environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed technical drawings, shop drawings, layouts, and schematics for structural, civil, mechanical, and mining infrastructure works.
- Develop and present comprehensive design plans for plant facilities, mining camps, roads, workshops, and processing installations.
- Review, verify, and validate engineering drawings for accuracy, safety compliance, and statutory standards.
- Utilize AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, and other CAD tools to produce high-quality 2D and 3D drawings.
- Supervise and coordinate contractors and vendors to ensure adherence to approved designs, safety standards, timelines, and quality requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for design optimization, material efficiency, and cost reduction.
- Ensure all designs comply with company engineering standards, mining regulations, environmental requirements, and HSE guidelines.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, drawing registers, version control, and reporting systems.
- Coordinate closely with engineering, maintenance, production, HSE, and external consultants for smooth project execution.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years' proven experience in a similar role, preferably within mining, construction, or infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, or equivalent CAD software.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and site operations.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and time management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict project deadlines.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
