Background
The Policyholders Compensation Fund (PCF) is a State Agency established under Section 179 of the Insurance Act (Cap 487 of the Laws of Kenya) with the mandate of protecting insurance claimants of an insurer placed under a manager appointed under section 67C (2) or whose license has been cancelled under the Act, through the provision of compensation for their unsettled claims.
Job Purpose
To coordinate the development of an efficient liquidation process for insurers under liquidation hence safeguarding policyholders’ and the general public’s interest as provided for under the Insurance Act and Insolvency Act.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Cumulative service period of fifteen (15) years’ relevant work experience, three (3) of which should have been at the level of Assistant Director, Insurance Services or equivalent in a comparable and relevant position;
- Master’s Degree in the following disciplines: Commerce, Actuarial Science, Finance, Insurance, Economics, Business Administration or its equivalent from recognized and accredited institution.
- Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Commerce, Finance, Actuarial Science, Economics, Business Administration or its equivalent from a recognized and accredited institution.
- Leadership course lasting not less than six (6) weeks from a recognized Institution;
- Proficiency in computer applications; and
- Fulfil the requirements of chapter six of the constitution.
