Duties and Responsibilities

  • Advising stakeholders and clients on all technical matters related to the planning and developments of controls within the county
  • Receive, process land development applications and grant fully, conditional or decline approvals.
  • Coordination of urban, lands and physical planning matters in the county.
  • Implement policies of the national land commission on land administration and management.
  • Provide geodetic infrastructure for the purpose of cadaster survey, mapping, engineering and scientific research.
  • Prepare and provide thematic and utility maps for the purpose of planning management of natural environment resources, preservation and development.
  • Performing any other duty as may be delegate from time to time.

Requirements for appointment

  • Be a Kenyan Citizen
  • A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following: Land economics; Land management; Real Estate and property studies; Land Surveying and Geo-Spatial Engineering; or its equivalent qualification from a recognized University.
  • Served in the position of Senior Assistant Director of Land Administration or a comparable position in private sector for a minimum period of three (3) years
  • Be proficient in Computer Applications
  • A training course in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) or Mediation, and a member of Mediation Training Institute International (MTI) will be an added advantage,
  • Has a proven administrative ability and professional competence necessary for the effective performance of work at this level.
