Overall Purpose of the Role
To serve as the primary relationship manager for referring doctors, hospitals, clinics, optometrists, medical centers, and other healthcare partners by promoting City Eye Hospital's specialist services, facilitating seamless communication, resolving stakeholder concerns, and identifying opportunities to grow referral volumes.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Physician Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with referring doctors, consultants, optometrists, clinical officers, hospitals, clinics, and healthcare institutions.
- Establish and implement a structured physician engagement programme.
- Conduct regular stakeholder visits to strengthen partnerships and identify new opportunities.
- Serve as the primary contact for physician-related enquiries and coordinate timely responses.
- Maintain regular communication with existing referral partners.
Referral Network Development
- Develop initiatives to increase physician referrals.
- Identify and recruit new referral sources.
- Build strategic partnerships with hospitals, clinics, and healthcare providers.
- Monitor referral patterns and recommend growth strategies.
- Work with consultants to expand referral networks.
Business Development & Hospital Promotion
- Promote City Eye Hospital's specialist services and centers of excellence.
- Present new clinical services to healthcare providers.
- Identify new business opportunities.
- Represent the hospital at professional meetings, conferences, and healthcare forums.
- Promote consultant specialties to appropriate referral partners.
Stakeholder Experience & Service Improvement
- Ensure referring healthcare providers receive excellent service.
- Coordinate prompt resolution of stakeholder concerns.
- Collect physician feedback.
- Recommend service improvements based on stakeholder feedback.
- Follow up with referred patients where necessary to improve continuity of care.
CRM & Performance Reporting
- Maintain an accurate physician database.
- Record all physician engagements.
- Analyze referral trends.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports.
- Monitor physician performance and referral activity.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Consultants, Marketing, Clinical Services, Customer Experience, and Operations to ensure alignment between demand generation and operational capacity.
Soft Skills
- Actively participate in departmental and company-wide meetings, providing insights from daily operations.
- Encourage collaboration and contribution from team members to support informed organizational decision-making.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrate excellent communication, networking, and relationship management skills.
- Uphold professionalism while representing City Eye Hospital in all engagements.
Knowledge and Skills Required
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Nursing, Clinical Medicine, or another health-related discipline with proven experience in healthcare business development or physician relationship management.
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience in healthcare business development, physician relations, account management, or hospital marketing.
- Experience working within a hospital environment.
- Experience managing professional stakeholder relationships.
- Experience using CRM systems and preparing management reports.
