Responsibilities or duties

  • Develop and implement learning activities that promote cognitive, physical, emotional, and social development of children aged 3-6 years;
  • Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, and learning materials,
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations of learners to monitor progress and identify areas of improvement;
  • Integrate play~based learning and creative arts into daily lessons;
  • Maintain a conducive leasing environment through proper classroom arrangement and resource management;
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and stimulating classroom environment tor children,
  • Manage classroom behavior and establish positive discipline practices;
  • Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of children under your care;
  • Identify and report any signs of abuse, neglect, or developmental issues:
  • Provide basic first aid and maintain records of any incidents,
  • Maintain accurate records of children’s attendance, performance, and progress.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on chiia development, challenges, and recommendations to school management and parenis;
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding the child’s progress and any concerns;
  • Organize and participate in parent-teacher meetings, open days, and other school events;
  • Engage with the local community to promote early childhood education; and
  • Participate in community programs and events that enhance the educational experience of children.

Qualifications or requirements

  • Be a Kenyan Citizen;
  • Have Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean Grade D (Plain) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
  • Have Diploma in Early Childhood Development Education;
  • Have Basic Training in Competence Based Curriculum (CBC/ CBE);
  • Have Registration with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC);
  • Have Proficiency in computer applications;
  • Have fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the 2010 Constitution of Kenya.

Note that an Upgraded Diploma in Early Childhood Teacher Education (UDETCE) and Special Needs Education will be an added advantage.

Terms of Service Permanent arid Pensionable

Salary Basic Salary Scale: Ksh 27,900-36,680

House Allowance: Ksh 3,850-4,500

Commuter Allowance: Ksh 4,000 a

Leave Allowance: As provided in the Civil Service:

  • Annual Leave: 30 working days
  • Medical Cover: As provided by the County Government of Kisumu
