Background
This is a part-time lecturer position at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology.
Responsibilities
- Teach the principles of early childhood development and education including developmental psychology, play-based learning, and early literacy and numeracy.
- Supervise students in developing age-appropriate learning materials, lesson plans, and assessment tools for early childhood learners.
- Conduct research on early childhood developmental milestones, effective pedagogies, and early intervention strategies.
- Train students in creating inclusive, nurturing, and child-centered learning environments.
- Develop teaching materials on health, nutrition, and care for young children in educational contexts.
- Guide students in understanding the importance of family involvement and community engagement in early childhood education.
- Collaborate with early childhood centers and NGOs on program development and teacher training.
- Setting, moderating, invigilating and marking examinations.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Applicants should hold a PhD or a master's degree qualification in a relevant field from a recognized academic institution; and possess vast teaching or industry experience at undergraduate/postgraduate levels.
- Applicants must have served as a Lecturer or equivalent industry experience in a university or institution recognized by the Senate of JOOUST.
- Demonstrate potential for university teaching and/or research.
- At least two (2) years teaching experience in a university.
- Master's holders registered for PhD may be considered.
- Be registered with the relevant professional body as required by the field of specialization.

The successful candidates will be offered a competitive remuneration package in accordance with the existing Terms and Conditions of Service.
