We are seeking a competent, reliable and detail-oriented Civil Engineer to join our team.
JOB PURPOSE
* Provide technical input in road and highway design, construction, maintenance and safety through preparation of designs, supervision of works, quality assurance, feasibility studies and data collection to support sustainable and compliant road infrastructure.
REQUIREMENTS
* Bachelor of science or Engineering Degree in any of the following disciplines: Civil Engineering, Civil and Structural Engineering, or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution.
* Registration by Engineers Board of Kenya as a Graduate Engineer.
* One year experience working as an Engineer (Roads).
* Excellent planning and organizational skills.
* Proven track record in running projects.
- Deliver and facilitate teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Conduct research, publish findings, and secure research funding through proposals.
- Build partnerships with industry, government, alumni, and other stakeholders.
- Support policy development and institutional planning.
- Monitor and evaluate teaching, research, and resource management for quality improvement.
- Engage in continuous professional and staff development.
- Develop, review, and implement academic curricula.
- Supervise postgraduate students.
- Maintain accurate student records, assessments, and academic progress tracking.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to supervise, motivate and work with diverse teams
- Ability to work within tight deadlines.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Proven passion for research, innovation, and outreach.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good analytical and critical thinking skills.
- An earned PhD and Master's degree in software engineering or a related field from accredited institutions.
- At least three (3) years of demonstrated quality and progressive teaching experience as an Associate Professor or Senior Lecturer; and research experience.
- A minimum of six (6) high quality publications in refereed journals since last promotion to the position of Senior Lecturer.
- Successful supervision of at least 5 postgraduate students, including 2 PhD candidates.
- Registered with the relevant professional body.
- Active participation in national and international scholarly activities.
