About the Role:
We are looking for a highly disciplined, detail-oriented Entry-Level Accountant to join our team in a fast-paced wholesale and distribution environment. This role requires accuracy, accountability, and the ability to handle financial data with minimal supervision. You will work directly under a senior accountant and be expected to meet strict performance and accuracy standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurate and timely entry of financial data into ERP/accounting systems
- Strict verification of invoices against delivery notes and supporting documents
- Validation of invoice accuracy, including correct application of VAT and withholding tax
- Daily and monthly reconciliations (bank, cash, supplier, and customer accounts)
- Immediate identification and reporting of discrepancies or inconsistencies
- Maintenance of well-organized and audit-ready filing systems (physical and digital)
- Support in accounts payable and receivable processes
- Participation in stock and inventory record verification where required
- Assistance in preparation and filing of statutory returns
- Ensuring full compliance with company controls and procedures
- Handling assigned administrative duties and controlled office errands
- Any additional duties as assigned by senior staff
Minimum Requirements (Strict):
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA Part II (minimum) – mandatory
- Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and double-entry principles
- Working knowledge of Kenyan tax compliance under Kenya Revenue Authority
- Practical understanding of:
- Demonstrated ability to assist in filing returns via KRA iTax Portal
- Proven ability to perform reconciliations (bank, cashbook, supplier, and customer accounts)
Technical Skills (Tested During Recruitment):
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (mandatory)
- Use of formulas (e.g., SUMIF, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)
- Basic data analysis and reconciliation using Excel
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Google Workspace
- Experience using accounting/ERP systems (e.g., Odoo, QuickBooks, or similar)

- Strong sense of responsibility and integrity
- Ability to follow instructions precisely and meet deadlines
