Background
IGNIS, a company focused on advancing clean cooking solutions, has announced an opportunity for Enumerators to support a national initiative aimed at helping schools transition to cleaner, smarter cooking technologies. The recruitment drive seeks individuals who are passionate about data collection and community engagement to contribute to a project that will help shape the future of clean cooking in Kenya.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts to promote sustainable energy solutions within educational institutions while supporting the adoption of environmentally friendly cooking technologies. Enumerators will play a critical role in gathering accurate field data that will inform project implementation and decision-making.
A total of 15 positions are available across selected counties. The organization is seeking applicants who are residents of the counties in which they intend to work.
Role of the Enumerator
The Enumerators will be responsible for collecting information from schools and other relevant stakeholders as part of the clean cooking transition project. The role will involve conducting field visits, administering surveys, recording responses accurately, and ensuring data is captured according to project requirements.
Successful candidates will contribute to the collection of reliable information that will support the development and implementation of clean cooking solutions within educational institutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct field data collection activities within assigned locations.
- Administer surveys and questionnaires to designated respondents.
- Record and submit accurate information using approved data collection tools.
- Ensure data collected meets quality and project standards.
- Maintain professionalism while interacting with respondents.
- Support project teams in achieving data collection targets.
- Provide timely updates on field activities when required.
- Ensure confidentiality and integrity of collected information.
Requirements
Applicants should possess the following:
- Diploma or Degree qualification.
- Experience in field data collection.
- Proficiency in the use of smartphones.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and Kiswahili.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Candidates with the following additional experience may have an added advantage:
- Experience using KoboToolbox.
- Experience conducting research or survey activities.
- Familiarity with the education sector.
Residency Requirement
Applicants must be residents of the county for which they are applying. This requirement is intended to support effective field operations and ensure familiarity with local communities and institutions.
