Responsibilities or duties
- Implement Carbon Pricing: Instruct on the economic rationale behind carbon taxes and cap-and-trade systems as mechanisms to reduce emissions.
- Assess Valuation Methods: Teach students to use contingent valuation and hedonic pricing to quantify the economic value of non-market environmental goods.
- Manage Common Pool Resources: Guide students in analyzing the "Tragedy of the Commons" and proposing sustainable management strategies (e.g., fisheries, forests).
- Analyze Pollution Policies: Evaluate the economic efficiency of command-and-control regulations versus market-based incentives for pollution control.
- Study Sustainable Development: Instruct on the economic trade-offs between current resource extraction and the preservation of resources for future generations.
- Integrate Circular Economy: Teach the economic viability of waste-to-resource systems and the business case for recycling and remanufacturing.
