The United Nations Office for Project Services is an operational arm of the United Nations, dedicated to implementing projects for the United Nations System, international financial institutions, governments and other partners in the aid world.

Responsibilities or duties

Under the supervision of FCLP Deputy Director, Policy, the FCLP Carbon Markets Senior Officer will assist the co-leads (Ghana, Paraguay, UK) to:

  • Coordinate workplans and deliver the 2026 policy objectives, with particular focus on preparations for the FCLP intervention at London Climate Action Week.
  • Coordinate the planning, preparation and delivery of FCLP outputs and events linked to London Climate Action Week, including stakeholder engagement, briefing materials and logistical coordination.
  • Project manage the delivery of 6 agreed outputs as agreed with the FCLP working group.
  • Provide administrative support to the JREDD+ Coalition Coordination Group.
  • Maintain regular engagement with FCLP co-leads and members to support participation in priority activities, including ensuring alignment of messaging and contributions for London Climate Action Week.
  • Develop and own project management documents, including support in planning, tracking and reporting on delivery.
  • Support governance processes and day to day operational management.
  • Develop relationships with external stakeholders, primarily those leading complementary/similar initiatives, who will attend London Climate Action Week.
  • As a core member of the FCLP Secretariat, the Senior Officer will attend weekly FCLP meetings and support cross-cutting FCLP events as needed.

Education Requirements

  • An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) preferably in environmental studies, international relations, political or business administration and/or other relevant fields with two (2) years of relevant experience is required. OR
  • A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) preferably in environmental studies, international relations, political or business administration and/or other relevant fields with four (4) years of relevant experience.
