A fiber technician installs, maintains, and repairs fiber optic cables and systems, a process involving cable splicing, testing equipment like OTDRs and power meters, and providing technical support for network functionality.

Install,splice,and terminate fiber optic cables in both underground and aerial environments. Conduct testing and troubleshooting of fiber optic networks to ensure quality and reliability. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on fiber infrastructure. Accurately complete project documentation, including test results and as-built drawings. Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures at all times. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to deliver successful projects on schedule.
Knowledge of fiber optic standards,cable types,and splicing techniques. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work in the field under varying conditions. Valid driver's license will be an added advantage.
Minimum of a Certificate in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Experience in fiber installation,splicing,and testing (OTDR,power meter,etc.)
