Job Summary:
We are looking for a proactive and motivated Field Officer to implement and monitor field activities, engage with communities, collect data, and ensure the successful execution of projects on the ground. The ideal candidate will be passionate about community development, have strong interpersonal skills, and be able to work independently in dynamic environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Field Implementation & Monitoring:
- Execute field activities as per project plans, timelines, and objectives.
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor progress, identify challenges, and provide on-ground support.
- Ensure project activities are carried out efficiently and in compliance with organizational guidelines.
Community Engagement & Mobilization:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community members, local leaders, and stakeholders.
- Mobilize communities for meetings, trainings, and project activities.
- Facilitate community awareness sessions and collect feedback for program improvement.
Data Collection & Reporting:
- Collect accurate field data using surveys, interviews, focus group discussions, and mobile data tools.
- Prepare and submit timely field reports, including activity summaries, challenges, and recommendations.
- Maintain proper documentation of field activities, attendance records, and success stories.
Training & Capacity Building:
- Assist in organizing and facilitating training sessions for community groups, farmers, beneficiaries, or local partners.
- Provide ongoing support and follow-up to ensure knowledge transfer and skill application.
Logistics & Coordination:
- Coordinate logistics for field activities, including movement of materials, venue arrangements, and participant mobilization.
- Liaise with supervisors and other team members to ensure smooth field operations.
- Represent the organization professionally in the field and at stakeholder meetings.
Compliance & Safeguarding:
- Adhere to organizational policies, especially regarding ethics, safeguarding, and data protection.
- Ensure all field activities are conducted in a safe, inclusive, and respectful manner.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Community Development, Agriculture, Social Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience as a Field Officer, Community Mobilizer, Extension Officer, or similar role.
- Experience in data collection, reporting, and community-based projects is required.
- Background in microfinance, agriculture, health, or NGO work is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to ride a motorcycle (valid riding license is a plus).
- Proficiency in using mobile data collection tools and MS Office.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Fluency in English and local language(s) spoken in the project area.
- Honest, reliable, and culturally sensitive.
