Field Sales Reps (Construction Materials)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct daily field visits to contractors, construction sites, hardware shops, developers, architects, and masons within assigned territories
- Identify new sales opportunities and convert leads into bulk purchase orders
- Build, maintain, and grow long-term relationships with key decision-makers in the construction industry
- Present, promote, and demonstrate construction materials, clearly explaining specifications, applications, and benefits
- Prepare and issue quotations, negotiate pricing within approved margins, and close sales deals
- Follow up on orders to ensure timely delivery, correct quantities, and customer satisfaction
- Monitor ongoing construction projects and proactively position company products for future supply needs
- Gather and report market intelligence including competitor pricing, product offerings, and market trends
- Ensure consistent visibility of company products in hardware shops and project sites
- Support customers with product selection and technical guidance where necessary
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and pipelines
- Prepare and submit daily activity reports, weekly sales updates, and monthly performance reports
- Follow up on outstanding invoices and support collections in coordination with the finance team
- Participate in sales meetings, product training sessions, and strategy discussions
- Ensure full compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and branding guidelines
- Represent the company professionally at all times in the market
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Diploma or Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, or a related field is an added advantage
- Minimum of 5 years proven experience selling construction materials (mandatory)
- Strong understanding of the construction industry and supply chain
- Established network of contractors, hardware shops, and construction professionals
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated, aggressive closer with strong follow-through
- High level of honesty and professionalism
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
