About the Role

Signs Media Kenya Limited is seeking a motivated and detail oriented Finance Intern to join our team. This is a training based internship designed to provide practical exposure to accounting and financial management functions within a professional work environment.

The successful candidate will undergo short term structured training and mentorship while supporting day to day finance operations, with the expectation of quickly taking on key responsibilities within the finance function. The role offers an opportunity to transition into a full time position based on performance and organizational needs.

• Assist in maintaining and interpreting financial records and accounting data
• Support in ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded and accounted for
• Assist in maintaining general ledger accounts and preparing journal entries
• Support month end, quarter end and year end closing activities and reconciliations
• Provide pre billing information for review and assist in preparing project invoices
• Assist in analyzing project expenses and providing clarifications where necessary
• Support preparation of cost estimates for projects and related financial documentation
• Assist in preparing financial reports and supporting documentation for management
• Support budgeting, financial management, and project forecasting activities
• Assist in preparing financial statements and financial reports for internal and external stakeholders
• Support monitoring of accounting standards, regulations, and financial reporting frameworks
• Assist in evaluating financial performance and preparing project profitability reports
• Support analysis of business finance options and financial planning activities
• Assist in identifying financial risks and supporting risk management processes
• Perform any other finance related duties as assigned by management

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field
• Must have completed and graduated from university
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and taxation will be an added advantage
• Prior exposure or experience in accounting or finance related functions will be an added advantage
• Candidates who are available to start immediately will have an added advantage
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
