The Finance Systems Business Analyst will act as the bridge between Finance, IT, and business stakeholders, ensuring that financial systems meet the needs of the insurance business. The role involves gathering requirements, analyzing processes, and supporting system enhancements to improve efficiency, compliance, and reporting accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Gathering & Analysis
- Collaborate with finance teams to understand business needs and translate them into system requirements.
- Document functional specifications for finance-related processes (general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, claims accounting, premium processing, etc.).
System Implementation & Support
- Support implementation, upgrades, and integrations of finance systems (ERP, insurance accounting platforms, reporting tools).
- Conduct system testing (UAT, regression, integration) and validate outputs against business requirements.
- Provide ongoing support for finance systems, troubleshooting issues, and liaising with IT/vendors.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to streamline finance processes and enhance automation.
- Ensure compliance with insurance regulatory requirements and internal controls.
Stakeholder Management
- Act as the liaison between Finance, IT, and external vendors.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Data & Reporting
- Support finance teams in producing accurate financial and regulatory reports.
- Ensure data integrity across finance systems and reporting platforms.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, IT, or related field.
- Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of insurance finance processes (claims, premiums, reinsurance, IFRS 17).
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics) or insurance-specific finance platforms.
- Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and projects simultaneously.
