Job Title: Financial Controller
Reporting to: CFO
Location: Serengeti, Tanzania
Net Salary: USD 2000
A newly opened luxury tented camp in the Serengeti is seeking a highly competent and detail-oriented Financial Controller to oversee its full financial operations. This role is critical to ensuring strong financial governance, accurate reporting, and sustainable profitability within a boutique hospitality environment.
The successful candidate will serve as the financial lead on site, supporting management decision-making through robust controls, analysis, and strategic financial insight.
Key Responsibilities;
- Prepare, review, and maintain accurate financial statements, management reports, budgets, and forecasts for the camp.
- Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Develop and manage annual budgets and financial plans in collaboration with camp management.
- Conduct regular financial performance analysis, identifying variances, trends, risks, and opportunities to improve profitability.
- Ensure full compliance with local tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements, including coordination of audits where required.
- Provide timely financial insights and recommendations to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop finance staff, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and strong internal controls.
- Partner with department heads to optimize revenue and enforce effective cost controls.
- Manage cash flow and working capital to maintain financial stability.
Qualifications & Experience;
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
- 3–5 years’ experience in a financial management role, ideally within hospitality, lodges, or camps.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax compliance.
- High proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with hotel or lodge systems is an added advantage.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and financial control skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.
- Experience in a boutique hotel, lodge, or similar setting is a strong advantage.
