Responsibilities

Fleet Operations Management

  • Supervise the Operations Controller to ensure effective execution of daily transport operations.
  • Monitor fleet productivity, vehicle utilization, trip performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure transport plans are executed in line with customer requirements and operational priorities.
  • Coordinate operational resources to maximize fleet utilization and minimize downtime.
  • Review operational performance and implement initiatives to improve productivity and service delivery.
  • Support implementation of transport strategies and continuous improvement initiatives.

Administration Management

  • Oversee all administrative functions within the NTD Department.
  • Ensure accurate preparation, filing, and maintenance of departmental records and operational documentation.
  • Coordinate departmental correspondence, approvals, and administrative processes.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and departmental processes.
  • Coordinate procurement requests, office requirements, and administrative support for transport operations.
  • Ensure proper document management and record retention within the department.

Fleet Performance Management

  • Monitor departmental KPIs including:
  • Review operational reports and recommend corrective actions to improve performance.
  • Coordinate departmental performance review meetings and follow up on agreed action plans.

People Management

  • Supervise, coach, and mentor the Operations Controller and Compliance Officer.
  • Monitor staff performance and ensure departmental KPIs are achieved.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and identify training and development needs.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, discipline, and a high-performance culture.
  • Conduct regular departmental meetings to review operational performance and address challenges.

Risk, Safety & Governance

  • Promote compliance with Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Quality (HSSEQ) standards across transport operations.
  • Support implementation of company safety initiatives and operational risk management programs.
  • Ensure transport incidents are escalated appropriately and corrective actions are implemented.
  • Promote a culture of operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement.

Reporting

  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly departmental performance reports.
  • Review operational and administrative reports before submission to the Fleet & Transport Solutions Manager.
  • Prepare management presentations and departmental performance summaries.
  • Monitor achievement of departmental objectives and recommend improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Transport Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional qualification in Transport Management, Logistics, Fleet Management, Project Management, or Supply Chain Management is an added advantage.
  • Membership in a recognized professional body (e.g., CILT, KISM, KIFWA) is desirable
