Front Office & Housekeeping Manager
Oversees the daily operations of the reception desk and housekeeping department. Trains and schedules staff, resolves escalated guest complaints, ensures smooth check-in/check-out, and manages communication between front office, housekeeping, and maintenance. Coordinates daily cleaning operations, manages room attendant teams, and inspects guest rooms and public areas to meet hygiene and quality standards.
Core Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Supervise front desk agents, prepare work schedules, and ensure thorough shift handovers.
- Guest Relations: Provide a warm welcome to guests (especially VIPs), handle escalated inquiries, and resolve issues promptly.
- Operational Duties: Ensure the front desk runs efficiently, oversee billing/cash-handling, and ensure compliance with hotel policies and security standards.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work with housekeeping and maintenance to keep room statuses current and guest requests met.
- Sales & Revenue: Use suggestive selling techniques and manage room assignments to maximize occupancy and revenue.
- Staff Management: Prepare duty rosters, assign tasks, train new staff, and motivate the team.
- Quality Inspections: Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, corridors, and public spaces for cleanliness and safety.
- Inventory Control: Monitor and manage cleaning supplies, linens, and guest amenities, reordering as needed.
Qualifications:
Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred; 3 years front office experience with supervisory/team lead experience; proficiency in PMS (e.g. Opera); exceptional interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills; able to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays.
