Job Title: GENERAL MANAGER

Industry: Interior Design

Location: Nairobi

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee daily operations across design, sales, project management, and finance departments
  • Ensure smooth workflow coordination and achievement of departmental targets
  • Improve operational systems, processes, and overall efficiency
  • Develop and implement business strategies aligned with company growth objectives
  • Drive business expansion, market penetration, and new revenue opportunities
  • Support long-term strategic planning and organizational growth
  • Lead, mentor, and manage multidisciplinary teams to enhance performance
  • Promote a high-performance, collaborative, and results-driven work culture
  • Oversee staff training, development, and performance evaluation
  • Supervise end-to-end delivery of interior design projects
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards
  • Strengthen project management systems and accountability structures
  • Manage and maintain strong client relationships
  • Serve as escalation point for key client issues and concerns
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and client retention
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and overall financial performance
  • Implement cost control measures and profitability improvement strategies
  • Support financial reporting and decision-making processes
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and industry standards
  • Maintain high-quality service and design delivery standards
  • Identify and mitigate operational and financial risks

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in a senior leadership role (GM/Operations Manager or equivalent)
  • Experience in interior design, architecture, construction, or related industry preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Interior Design, Architecture, or related field
  • Master's degree or professional certifications are an added advantage
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven experience in business strategy, budgeting, and P&L management
  • Strong project management experience handling multiple complex projects
  • Knowledge of design software (AutoCAD/Revit) is an added advantage
